We all have an opinion

Spent the last weekend in Washington D.C. The city was just okay. It didn't leave a huge impression on me. I would definitely prefer Chicago any day. I have to admit that we didn't really get to go to any of the hot spots, so maybe that will change my opinion later. Also, maybe going during the Cherry Blossoms festival or the kite flying festival might be a better experience. The one thing that I liked about D.C. was the very well connected Metro. Loved it!!

So of course we saw the Washington monument, Lincoln memorial, U.S. Capitol and White House. Surprisingly though, we didn't go to any of the museums..... Considering the fact that we are museum buffs and the museums in Washington are good and free this was an anomaly. We did attend the Rally to Restore Sanity. I had never been to a political rally before and I don't think I ever will in future. So this was a good opportunity to try it out :-). Obviously, it was extremely crowded, the trains were packed, roads were blocked and throngs of people with creative signs and (some) Halloween costumes made the rally very exciting. It was a weird atmosphere, one that made you feel young again....like naive young...when you are filled with hopes and dreams... like the movie Yuva!! Watching that movie made me feel the same.

So enjoy the shots that S took of some amazing signs..... I love the girl in pink T-shirt. I thought that was very courageous and her demeanor was very soft and kind... She didn't have the kind of aggressiveness or "don't give a damn" attitude that I imagined someone with that sign should have had... These signs definitely draw attention to many important issues along with some of the stupidity that is going around this election season.

All in all, it was a good weekend. But I think I want to go back to see Cherry Blossoms or else never.
